Mary Gauthier Carries Musical Torch Overseas
Artist To Document "Americana Experience"
In Sweden, Denmark, Ireland and United Kingdom

(NASHVILLE, Tenn) April 17, 2013 - The Americana Music Association announced today that critically acclaimed Americana stalwart artist, Mary Gauthier, will carry the Americana torch across the Atlantic on her forthcoming European tour.

Gauthier, who sits on the Americana Music Association's Board of Directors, embarks on a 17 city tour through Sweden, Denmark, Ireland and the UK with the first date in Malmo, Sweden on April 17.  During the tour, she will carry the banner of the Americana Music Association to each venue to not only share her music with her faithful fan base, but also to spread the mission of the not for profit music association, which is to advocate for the authentic voice of American roots music around the world.  Gauthier will document her observations on music and community with regular updates through social media and on the Americana Music Association's Facebook and Twitter feeds.

"Americana is more than a musical genre; it's about a community of music lovers who are connected by a passion that goes well beyond national borders," said Gauthier. "I'm experiencing this every night in clubs wherever I play; there is definitely a rising tide going on and I love being part of that."

Mary Gauthier will be accompanied by Ben Glover from Belfast, Ireland and Michele Gazich from Italy, performing songs from her recent release "Live at Blue Rock" and others from her inspired catalog.
