Review of 'Ryan Adams: Losering - A Story of Whiskeytown' by David Menconi

David Menconi's biography of Ryan Adams is a fun, quick read for any fan of alt-country.
Menconi draws on his own recollections and notes, interviews with Adams done prior
to 2001, interviews of key players from the early days (many of which were done
in 2011), and internet postings of Adams and others to chronicle the career (so
far) of Ryan Adams, the singer-songwriter from Jacksonville, North Carolina by way

Chris Thile awarded MacArthur Grant

Mandolin wizard, Punch Brothers leader and lifelong Chicago Cubbies fan Chris Thile
has been chosen to receive one of America's top honors - the MacArthur Foundation
Fellowship. Twenty three were given out today for outstanding contributions to
Science, Medicine, and the Arts. The prestigious award extends for five years with
