The Americana Music Association Adds The Wallflowers
to Festival Lineup
In Partnership with Nashville’s “Live On the Green”
Outdoor Showcase Is Announced for Thursday September 13
Delta Spirit /The Dunwells Opening
 
July 18, 2012, Nashville, TN: In partnership with Nashville’s Live On The Green, The Americana Music Festival & Conference adds a free outdoor showcase to the lineup. The Wallflowers will headline Thursday, September 13 with Delta Spirit and The Dunwells opening.  The concert is part of Live On the Green’s free, public concert series held at Public Square Park in front of the Metro Courthouse.
 
The Wallflowers are touring this summer, previewing material from their long-awaited new studio album to be released by Columbia Records this fall. Recorded in Nashville, the new album finds front man Jakob Dylan joining original band members Greg Richling (bass) and Rami Jaffee (keyboards), with Wallflowers’ longtime guitarist Stuart Mathis and drummer Jack Irons (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam) rounding out the lineup.
 
In addition to The Wallflowers, Live On the Green’s fourth season includes a variety of local and national acts from multiple genres.  The six-week concert series, which is presented by Lightning 100 in partnership with the Nashville Mayor’s Office, will take place Thursday nights beginning Sept 6 through October.  For the full lineup and event details, visit www.liveonthegreen.net.
 
The Wallflowers, Delta Spirit and The Dunwells join Americana’s heavyweights, innovators and icons to showcase in Nashville venues for the 13th annual Americana Music Festival & Conference, presented by Nissan, September 12 through September 15. Among the first round of recently announced artists include: Billy Joe Shaver, Punch Brothers, Brandi Carlile, Richard Thompson, Sara Watkins, The Deep Dark Woods, Shovels & Rope, John Hiatt, Eilen Jewell, Rodney Crowell, honeyhoney, and John Fullbright and many others.

Live music will kick off the event at the 11th Annual Americana Honors and Awards ceremony on Wednesday, September 12 at the historic Ryman Auditorium with performances from Bonnie Raitt, Booker T., Richard Thompson - and many more to be announced. The festival brings more than 100 official performances throughout Music City and last year more than 12,000 fans enjoyed the festival’s musical events. In addition, the conference will offer daily seminars, panels and networking opportunities at venues around the city.
