Garners Regional Emmy Award Nomination
(Nashville, Tenn - November 22, 2013) – The 2012 Americana Music Honors & Awards program was honored last night with a regional Emmy Award nomination in the Special Event Program category by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The critically acclaimed Americana Honors & Awards show was filmed live at the historic Ryman Auditorium on September 12, 2012. This unique night of music and celebration honored multiple generations of artists ranging from legends such as Booker T. Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Richard Thompson and Guy Clark, favorites Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, and up-and-comers Alabama Shakes, Jason Isbell and The Civil Wars.
Hosted by Jim Lauderdale with musical direction from all star band leader Buddy Miller, the program is stacked with memorable collaborations from Booker T.'s timeless masterpiece "Green Onions," to the finale on The Band classic "The Weight," played in tribute to the late Levon Helm, opened by Levon's daughter Amy Helm and Levon Helm Band members Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams. They were joined by the full house band and guest vocalists Raitt, John Hiatt, Emmylou Harris and Brittany Howard from Alabama Shakes trading off on vocals.
The program was presented by Nissan and Tennessee Tourism and produced by Martin Fischer and Edie Hoback of High Five Entertainment and Jed Hilly, Michelle Aquilato, Holly Lowman and Courtney Gregg for the Americana Music Association.

The 15th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference will take place September 17 - 21, 2014.
